Tescos rises

Despite local protests about size Tescos new superstore superstructure is rising in Highams Park.
With it comes new housing, new jobs and some much needed parking and section 106 money for education, health and local roads, and of course much less expensive local food and other shopping.
Also comes, many locals suspect, severe traffic congestion around the famous landmark level crossing – especially at the rush hours and school opening and closing times. Others feel that it will herald the closing of many local shops, particularly the ‘convenience stores
’
It will not be too long before we find out!
